Supermarket giant ASDA revealed today that it has taken over 80,000 tonnes of CO2 out of its operations since 2007. ASDA have managed this even though they have opened another 36 stores and serve an additional 2.5million customers every week. This equates to a 7% reducation in CO2.
“Saving money and cutting waste has always been at the heart of our business and that also puts sustainability centre stage" says Paul Kelly (Asda External Affairs and Corportate Responsibility Director).
