20 Uses For A Plastic Bag



To help climate change we all need to reduce the number of plastic bags we use, and start re-using and recycling the ones we already have. Buy a bag for life or re-use old plastic bags to carry your shopping home with.

If you still have plenty of plastic bags lying around here are a few ways you can re-use them...

1. Use plastic bags as liners for small bins, or to put rubbish in.

2. You can use old plastic bags as dog poop bags by turning them inside out and picking up poop and then tying handles together. This uses up your old bags as well as meaning you don't have to buy special dog poop bags.

3. You can scrunch old plastic bags up and use them as packing material instead of bubblewrap or styrofoam.

4. Cut a disc out of a plastic bag and place over jar before you screw the lid back on to create a leak-proof seal.

5. Simply place your cook book inside a plastic bag while being store in the kitchen to prevent staining from spills or splashes when cooking.

6. If you don't have a pair of rubber gloves to hand, simply place a plastic bag over each hand instead.

7. When decorating or painting at home use old plastic bags to line the floor or skirting boards to catch stray drops of paint.

8. Instead of trapsing mud through the house when you're gardening keep a pair of plastic bags at the door to slip over any dirty shoes, boots or wellies as plastic booties.

9. Use old plastic bags to store dirty laundry in a suitcase while travelling to prevent clean clothes from smelling.

10. Use plastic bags to cover a plaster cast so you can wash, for example if you have a broken arm.

11. Use old plastic bags instead of special Freezer bags or sandwich bags.

12. Large plastic bags can be used to cover clothes in your wardrobe or while travelling to keep them clean.

13. Take a child's action figure and some string and make your own parachute toy.

14. If you get travel sick use your plastic bags as sick bags (just make sure they don't have any holes in!)

15. Put old plastic bags around your windscreen wipers and wing mirrors in winter to prevent snow and ice.

16. Tie a plastic bag's handles around your washing line and use it to hold your washing line pegs.

17. Use your old plastic bags to wrap around and store paint brushes before or after being washed.

18. Plastic bags can be used ass kindling to start fires even in the rain(but do not inhale any toxic fumes).

19. Wet swimming costumes can be put in plastic bags for the journey home.

20. Plastic bags can be srcunched up and used for stuffing pillows, mattresses etc
